The Unveiling of Eleanor Roosevelt's Portrait

This photograph is of guests admiring the portrait of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt by Douglas Chandor following its unveiling during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House on February 4, 1966. First Lady Lady Bird Johnson spearheaded efforts to acquire the portrait and it was purchased by the White House Historical Association for the White House Collection.
